During the Presidential campaign Joe Biden made the statement that paying taxes was patriotic. Now that Obama has won, and soon will become the President of the United States, he has nominated Tim Geithner as Secretary of the Treasury. Tim Geithner didn't pay self employment tax for 01, 02, 03 , and 04. Now does this make Geithner unpatriotic? Better yet why is it OK for Geithner to get a pass, when any other American would have had their pay garnished or worse. Geithner says it was a honest mistake, and he made errors in judgement. Last time I checked when you file your taxes, you have to sign your name which means they are correct, it doesn't matter if you have a accountant or you do them yourself, it is up to the tax payer to ensure his or her taxes are correct. No one should get a pass. Folks, this is just the beginning.
